Hello,

Just purchased a used TGB/Pierspeed Key West. Scooter was stored indoors for a year and driven minimally... (4 miles). Scooter starts rough and sputters when you try to ride it in the first 6 or 7 minutes after start up. After the initial 6 or 7 minutes it runs perfect (37 mph) and idles correctly. I now have 97 miles on it and have burned out the old fuel and filled up with new 93 octane gas. My problem is I do not want to wait 6-7 minutes for warm up.

I am thinking the spark plug might have an issue and want to replace it. Appears to be plug BPR7HS...NGK. What is the correct spark plug gap for this plug/scooter ? Should I disconnect the battery before replacing the spark plug ? Also, are there any other plugs (part ##) I can use ? NGK are hard to find.

Thanks...

you really don't have any choice about the warm up time provided  the season and how
much & how frequently  you ride the scooter it may get better...

Thanks for the info. Is the correct gap 0.6-0.7 mm ? I replaced the plug and it is starting easier but still requires 6-7 minute warm up. I did not gap the plug...purchased the OE NGK BPR7HS and thought the factory gap might be ok.

I guess 2 strokes take a little while to warm up. I am in Delaware and the daytime temps have been off a little lately...mid 60's and some rain.
