how do you de-restricted a r50x

after son only having his new bike 6 mouths he is moving up to a 125cc moterbike.

I will be keeping his r50x for a runner rould scooter, but as I have passed my test many years ago, I would like to de-restricted it.
any one know how I do this.

you will have to remove the 'wedding ring' washer in the variator
WARNING: the variator nut is reverse threads!!
while you have the variator open  add some sliding weights.
you might want to step up a size or two on the main jet too.

remember the CDI will only allow just so many rpms  and if you want more
rpms (rpms=speed=maybe_break_wear_out_sooner) that can be done.

that said, how fast does it go now?

would like to get it up to 50mph.

do you know where to get parts in the uk or can you send over here.
as me son was pulled off his bike when some took of him, lucky they then fell off and run away.
but have damage the Throttle body/ switch on right hand side.
now throttle will not return to tick over.

50mph is tops and possible but expect more like 46mph
 and yes  can send you parts ( Genuine TGB) and
after market racing parts
