Updated the theme.  Let me know if you have an problems with it.

Anyone good with logos?  I will be the first to admit I have no artistic talent.  :-\

John:

The New Look is sharp.  I'm not artistically-inclined either.  However, you might be able to put in a TGB logo or a picture of a TGB scooter if it provides for a link to the Cobra site (to avoid copyright infringement).  I was just on scooterbbs.com and was surprised to see on the top of the main page a TGB ad with a link to Cobra.  I'd give Cobra a call and ask them.  I don't think it would imperil the Forum's independence.

You might also want to include some mention of Pierspeed in the Web search terms (perhaps have as a second name Pierspeed Forum), since Cobra is going to be rebadging the TGB products going forward.

Finally, is there a way to port over the TGB content from the old site to this Forum?  It would give people access to a great deal of useful content and make the Forum look less bare.

Hi everyone,

I got an email about this site and wanted to say hello.  I'm the owner of PEIRSPEED (Cobra Powersports) and the importer of the TGB products.

I can't give anyone permission to use TGB's logo, but you are free to use the PEIRSPEED logo to help promote your site.  TGB's are now being sold as PEIRSPEED in the U.S.

Besides running the powersports company I also own Internet Community Partners. It's a company that runs Internet discussion forums like this one, but we focus on cars.  Our largest site is www.ffcobra.com and has been online for over 6 years. I get about 3M hits a month on that site. So if you guys ever need any software help on this site, just ask.

If you were to run this site on vBulletin, it will grow better and have more features. vBulletin has many import modules so you could take this forums content and export it to vBulletin. And I think I read that you have another site with TGB content that you want to import. Again, using vBulletin would probably allow you to export that data too.  The more threads/posts/replies you have, the more your membership will grow.

I don't have a lot of time to visit the site, but I'll try to stop by from time to time and answer some questions.

Happy scootering...

- Bill

hi Bill, thanks for stopping by!  I am glad Rod took the time to contact you.  Thanks Rod!

I apreciate the use of the pierspeed logo.

Once this site grows large I might port it to vbulliten.  I have had decent success with simple machines.  It has a very robust rss implementation that allows me to get the content out to other sites I run.  Good for increasing traffic.  I know a lot of people are familiar with vbulliten which is great since people don't need to learn a new app.  Ffcobra is impressive!

Well I will have to try to get pierspeed integrated into this site.  Great job with importing TGB.  Looking forward to watching progress here n the states.

Hi Rod, this is the "old" site.  I only changed the look of it.  The posts and data is the same.  Did you notice any posts missing?

Your site looks great.  If you ever need anything, let me know.

By the way, vB has a built in RSS feed generator and is able to display rss's like a real person posted it.

Could you not use good pics of owners scooters / quads in your logo? I would be glad to clean and polish my quad up and submitt a good pic for you, if you would like. Pick a good quad pic and a good scooter pic and face them at each other at the top of the forum pages along with a snazzy phrase. Just a thought.
