hey guys i have a problem with my r50x when it goes at high revs about about 7500 revs for a while it looses power and may even cut out what could cause this? also i have asked a few people that are mechanically minded what it could be but as it doesnt happen all the time only sometimes then they dont know :S

at first i thought it might of been to o with the engine warming up but even now i rev it at about 3000 rpm for a min or 2 to warm up the engine so it not to do with that?

anyone could help or give advice would be great

its the limited stock CDI you have , which is limited to 7,500 rpm
you are experiencing the classic symptom
 'motor cuts out at 7,500rpm'.
if you sneak up on 7,500rpm you may not see or feel
the motor cut out and perhaps you can go over the limit slightly.
however when you are at max revs and at WOT you are slamming into the
'barrier'   and its literally turning off the ignition switch.

never cut the wire, for your experiment remove the wire from
the connector ,that way when/if it doesn't work you can just plug it back in.
to remove the pin from the connector;
look closely at the harness side and notice the 'notch' on each hole
the connector comes through.
push a paper clip or something in the notch and push the wire you
want to remove forward, then angle the paper clip away from  the pin
and pull on the wire.
you might have to try a couple of times but it will come out.

cutting the brown wire worked at one time on some earlier scooters but
not on the later models. TGB changed the methods of restriction
every few years as scooter owners figured out the how to defeat
them. it was all about the warranty and making the scooter last
for the warranty period and the laws for each country for 'mopeds'.

you just push it back in.
but look closely at it there is a tiny bit of the pin (tab)that is
bent out and it locks it in place ..the tab goes to the side of the slot
that you poked the paper clip in to.

so if it pulls out easily bend out the tab and push it back in and check it
