Good morning,

Yesterday I was given TGB Laser.  I assume that it is a 50cc since the speedo only goes to 50 and due to the fact that it has 12" rims.

The scooter I got is blue / yellow.  It belonged to a friend of mine that has had it garaged since it was new in 2005.  It literally has 1 mile on the odometer.  He was moving and did not want to take it with him.  He told me that it does not run, due to sitting, and has not been registered. That is why he simply gave it to me.

I am fairly confident wrenching on bikes since I do all my own work on my off road bikes.  I took the time last night to clean out the carb, air up the tires, and give it a well needed bath.  It seems to run perfect now.

I tested it in my neighborhood last night and notice that it seems to hit its rev limiter at around 37 - 38 MPH.  Is that normal?

I do not know anything at all about these machines.  Is there anything that I should do right off of the bat?  Any mods that are highly recommended to get a little more top end?  I would love to learn anything you can teach me about this little scooter.  Again, I don't know a thing about these.  HAHA!

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my posting.

welcome LeGrand ,
first thing is to remove the 'wedding ring', its in the variator
then you might want a set of springs and  while you have the
variator open change the rollers to slider's
TGB made 2 lasers the R5 and R9 . R5 is 49cc    R9150cc
when your ready for the parts let me know & i'll hook up

there are a few posts about weights and you might want to
check out the parts manuals for the exploded views and
also there are links to the service manual. all at the bottom of the forum home page
