I just got the word that the R50X & Sunset will no longer be
imported into the US  this year, due to slow sales on these models ,what a bummer!
Write your local dealer or TGB/Cobra -- ask that they be brought back in to the US

Slow sales?  I did not think that was an issue with any scooter in the US right now.  :D  HOpe they reconsider.

Wow. . that is disappointing! I LOVE my sunset and I would hate to see them stop importing them. . . Anything we can do to help?

Nice forum! I just signed up, so I wanted to say hi and while I'm here I'll try and give you guys some info.

You can still buy brand new 2007/2008 Sunsets and R50X's from dealers who have them in stock.  For the 2009 model year, we won't be stocking the Sunsets, but if a customer wants to buy a Sunset they can special order it from a PEIRSPEED (TGB) dealer and it will take about 3 months to get it.

The R50X has changed for 2009.  It's only going to be available as a Special Edition model with 2 very cool color schemes.  The new colors will be in dealers showrooms in October 2008.  But there will only be a few hundred sold per year, so if you want one you should reserve one from your local dealer as soon as possible.  The R50X SE models will be pretty rare; on purpose. :)

By the way, TGB's are now being sold under the brand name PEIRSPEED in the US.

Thanks,

- Bill
