I have a three-wheel scooter car that has a TGB engine (Key West as I am told). I recently brought this vehicle in to a local dealer who specializes in Chinese mopeds, and quickly found out that they really didn't know what they were doing. No it's up to me to get this this running.
Here is what I am faced with:
- Original issue: Bad starter motor. I replaced with new one. Now engine turns over but will not start.
- No spark at plug electrode end
- I grounded sparkplug HT line boot to chassis with screw driver -- small spark present
- Replaced plug with NGK BP6HS gapped at 6.1mm -- still no spark present
- Replaced factory coil, HT line, and boot with higher performance model -- no change in spark
- Cleaned the build up of "gunk" and dirt around the flywheel magneto -- no change in spark
- I don't have a shop manual so I cannot test the CDI and other related ignition components to determine where the issues is at.
Any ideas on where I can go from here to get spark at the plug end?
