i am trying to remove the restrictor washing but i having trouble getting the variator assembly off. i read there should just be a nut, but there doesn't seem to be...can someone help me out?

ride your scooter for at least 300 miles first.
kiss your warranty good by , and remember you will
now go faster than allowed.

buy a impact wrench air or electric.
also buy a (5/6mm?)allen  wrench 3/8" drive  or whatever the
the size of wrench you buy. try harbor freight if your a poor student type.

1. use the allen wrench  remove 3 screws
NOTE; don't break the fins!
remove k.starter assy.
2.remove nut
NOTE; the nut is REVERSE threads.
with caution slide off the variator fan.
try not to move the v belt on the other pulley
now you will see the brass ring
slide it to you.
REVERSE steps to reassemble

ha, thanks for the tip with the impact wrench, i tried for like an hour using a strap wrench and a ratchet with no luck, then went over to my neighbors and used his impact wrench and it came off in a second. unfortunately there was no washer there, so either the dealer had already taken it off, or 2006's just don't have it, but thanks anyways!

the dealer or previous owner removed it.
your stock  carb is under jetted  they use a #60
upjet  to a #65  or so

yup, i have a new main jet in transit, along with a new air filter, so i am hoping that will help a little bit

you have any suggestions for new roller weights? or any other cheap mods?
