My new R50X finally arrived over the weekend, after waiting over a month for it to be imported, and I must say its brilliant and so far I am very happy with it!

Will post pictures soon.

Well I would have posted pics had I not become involved in a traffic accident a couple of days later.

Yeah im alright thanks John, the scoot on the other hand was a wreck!

Just picked up the replacement today and noticed it came with a small rubber strap with 2 metal rings under the seat. My first thought was that it may be for securing the tool kit under the seat but i cant really see any place that it would go.

Anyone know what it is for?

Haha, if thats the seatbelt, im in trouble.  ;D

Yeah, car pulled out in front of me, so for a moment there i thought i could fly, but gravity was very quick to prove otherwise. Was wearing good protective gear so didnt do too badly, bruised AC joint (shoulder) and a few cuts. Man was I sore the next day though! Helmet was stuffed so certainly got a new one.

Sounds like it might be it, will have to check it out, thanks!

Yeah,  bouncing off a hard surface  only to land on one,
that will mess up your week..

i've never had a R50X to service  or sold one , but
sometimes on other scooters those straps are for the
oil tank or gas tank.

many times on opening a box with a scoter inside i
find odd parts here and there.
i think the factory workers just toss junk in the boxes
or scooter compartments
maybe its some of that?
i  could look through the parts & service manual if you really
need that itch scratched

Nah thats fine. I'll have a look and see if i can find a purpose for it. I asked the dealership and they didnt know, he said they usually just throw them away. Was just curious and thought some one may happen to know. Thanks for your help.

EDIT: I have just checked out the battery compartment and you were right, within seconds I could see that is exactly what it is for.
