I am looking at a used KW 2006 with 3800 miles on it.  It appears to have been extremely well maintained and the seller has all of the service records.  My concern is if I had a major motor issue are they expensive to fix? I am good with cars but I have never worked on a small engine.  Would I need any special tools to rebuild the engine or to modify it?  He wants $800 and I wonder if that is a fair price.  Thanks for any help.

great price,  thats about 1/2 of the MSRP  plus tax, dealer fees, license & tabs..
as for fixing 2 strokes they are the easiest and least expensive.
if you have any knowlage about motors your not going to have many problems
fixing or moding  your scoot.
so quit hemming and hawing  go buy that scooter you will be happy with it.
they go about 45+mph  stock with just removing the varatior ring.

Harry, thanks for the reply!
Are the parts pretty easy to obtain for that motor?

what model year did you buy?
no ehaust restrictor in them.
they are restricted by a brass ring in the varatior
also you might want to get a cdi that will go over 7.000 rpm
and some sliding weights.

if its a new scoot wait until you have about 150-200 miles on it
before you do any of that stuff.
remember you may void your warranty also
let me know if you want the cdi & weights
