2004 Delivery 125 Electrical Problem

Hello,

Hopefully someone can point me in the right direction here.  I have a 125 delivery that was running fine, then it stopped charging the battery and slowly drained the battery from use until the battery was completely dead.

I tried replacing the battery, and when a new battery was installed it didn't even see the battery (no electrical at all).  I tested the battery in a Delivery 50 that I also have and the battery works fine.

The scooter will start with a kick start, but things like the turn signals don't function when driving (doesn't seem to be enough electricity).

Any ideas?

Thanks!

the stator charges the battery as well as providing
power to the lights and what have you (your pizza warmer trunk!)
when the motor is running.

you can check the stator by ;
charging battery fully.
connect up battery in scooter.
with key off measure voltage.
turn on key measure voltage.
start scooter,measure voltage.
let us know the out come.

Thanks Harry, I'll check it when I'm @ the scooter next.

I did try a fresh battery yesterday and it operates the same both with the battery installed and with no battery at all.

When the key is moved to on:

No dash light
No turn signals
No horn
No fuel gauge

Scooter will kickstart
Once started, headlamp and gauge lights work, but that's about it.

Do you think it's a mechanical problem, maybe something with the ignition?

ok all the lights & horn not working its a good chance its the fuse
look next to the battery for a whitish fuse holder
it is inline on the positive cable .  remove the fuse inside
and check with meter and/or  replace with a new one .

Thanks Harry, I ripped the scooter apart and found the red lead into the ignition had some water in it and completely corroded the brass connector.  I pulled the wires out and spliced them and now all is good!

Now that I have the 125 running tip top, time to work on the 50 to get it up to speed!

Thanks for the help.
