Cool thanks for that, i was thinking of getting similar jets with maybe a 90 as well And probably rollers of the same weight. I took my carb apart on the weekend to look at what main jet was installed, turns out it is a 60.

This turned out to be pretty easy job and best of all i got it all back together and the bike started ;D.

Have fun.

Yep they emailed on the 1st Oct to say the pipe was being shipped, I asked them to remove any restrictions which they replied "There don't appear to be any restrictions" . So I will See when it arrives. Fingers crossed it bolts straight on Without any hassles.

Got my Tecnigas Next R Pipe on the bike today, looks really good and sounds not to bad either, although when I started the bike for the first time it was super loud but so after a quick once over I noticed the pipe wasn't seated completely up against the exhaust port of the engine so a couple of turns later it was all good.

Unfortunately I don't have the jets or rollers / sliders yet so I had to put the stock pipe back on for fear of over heating engine without the larger jets.

Harry do you have the 5 gram sliders in stock.

sorry no ,thats the only sliders that i can't get from my supplier
5gr rollers yes.
however you can mix sliders  like a set of 6gr & 4gr  , 1 of each in
each set of ramps  it will average to 5gr

a bigger jet is necessary for your pipe ,also a cooler plug would be advisable .
stock is a 7 so with NKG plugs you would want a 8 . if you have a 70cc cylinder kit
use a 9.
NKG plugs are backwards to most plugs, usually  a 7 plug is hotter than a 6.
but NKG get cooler the bigger the number....

in case you didn't know how a expansion pipe works check this out

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Expansion_chamber
basically the reverse cone pushes (scavenges)  the fuel rich air (sonic pressure) back
in the cylinder super charging the mixture giving you more power and upping your rpms.

Hi Harry,

Thanks for the info, I wasn't aware of the spark plug thing.

Couple of questions for you:

1 - Sliders -  Regarding the mixing of slider weights would you alternate them so 4,6,4,6.... ?

2 - Jets - my carb is a Mikuni brand but it can't find on the carb what model or size it is so there for don't know what size jet will screw in, what I mean by that is the diameter and length of the jet screw. Hope that makes sense?

yes one each a 4 & 6 in each of the 3 sets of ramps
this is a good way of tuning your scooter also
because you really have a set of 4gr, a set of 5gr, and a set of
6gr that you can try for the best response...

Hi Macca and Harry, I recieved my pipe today!Macca. What did you do with the pipe on  your scooter that comes out below the rear foot rest? Not sure what it is? I suppose you just plug it off?I emailed tecnigas to see if they could give an idea on the size main jet to use.

Hi Steve,

I think you are referring to the recirculation pipe, I just tucked the rubber hose up underneath the seat. I'm not sure if you need to plug it or not, Harry might know?

Did you get the jets etc put in?

Havent fitted the pipe yet. When are you fitting yours?Did you take the restrictor out of the inlet trac?Waiting on jets. May need to go bigger im thinking if it has a 60 in it already. What steps do the jets sizes go up in?On some mikuni sites i see you can get .625, 65, 675etc

I've not fitted mine either as i've not got the jets or sliders yet.

You mention a restrictor in the inlet trac, is that in the black pipe between the carb and engine or somewhere else?

Jets, I think I will get the following sizes 70,75,80,90.

It will be interesting if Tecnigas come back with recommendations.
