tgb 101r losing power

hi, am new to scootering. i recently bought a second hand tgb 101r which has been sitting for some time and the problem i am having is that when i am going along at top speed it loses its revs and just gradually dies in the middle of the road. does anyone have an answer to my problem?

hi harry. thinking a good service may do the trick as looked in book and doesnt seem to have been touch since 2008. the exhaust is also very smokey.

Hi. I had the same problem which occurred after a crash. It was traced to a crack in the airbox. Evidently a crack will upset the mixture. A piece of tape confirmed the diagnosis, as all problems disappeared.
