R50X excessive smoking issue?

I just purchased a 2006 R50X with a little less than 1k miles on it.  Even after warm-up, it seems to smoke a little too excessively or at least more than other 2-strokes I've owned over time.  When I purchased it from the previous owner and got it home, I was cleaning out the under-seat storage compartment and noticed an unopened TGB check valve.  I didn't think much of it at first, but I'm wondering if the previous owner had an issue with it smoking also and maybe ordered the check valve I found.  I have not been able to reach the previous owner and was wondering if someone on this forum might could give me some insight.

Thanks!

All 2t scooters will smoke . some more than others
since you have the oil valve replacing it would be a good place to start .

some times they get stuck open and allow excess oil into
 the carb or cylinder
i have seen so much oil in some scooters that it filled up the
exhaust pipe  !
drain the carb and ride the scooter for a couple of hours.

Thanks, Harry!  You're right, I might as well put on the new check valve since I have a new one.  I see where the check valve attaches to the carb, but do you just tap-it-in, since there are no threads to screw it on to the carb?

be aware that TGB sells 2 types of valves  one for the carb
and one that is inline which has 2 barbed pipe ends.

to remove i grab the body of the valve with some tiny vice grips
and twist back & forth while pulling the valve out from the carb.
reinstalling is a bit trickier as you have to support the carb body
and a tiny socket placed over the barbed pipe as to protect it ,makes a nice tool
to tap with a hammer  if needed to replace it.

Got it, Harry.  According to the TGB R50X parts book/part no., the one I have seems to be for the carb...see photo below.  Thanks for the tips!
