I have a 2007 Laser R5 completely stock. Recently when it gets warm I lose power all the way down to stalling. Could I have an issue with the choke?

check your fuel for water.
 also here's how to test a auto choke

a new plug can help..

auto chokes take a good 5 minutes  to work. most people think they are like a solenoid  and as soon as you turn the key it should choke the carb..not the case.
its in the choke position when the motor is cold .
there's a thermal wax in the unit and a spring attached to the plunger
that moves when the wax gets hot.

Thanks for the advice. I went ahead and cleaned the carb, spark plug, and put in new gas. Also replaced the air filter. Now it's running great.

save the old foam filter for the next tune up
 wash it with soap & water ,dry
and re-oil  it with 30/70 mix oil to gas and
let the gas dry.
store in a plastic bag to keep the dust off.
