hi all, I have a 125 delivery 18 months old and 2050 miles on clock. when it rains in can sometimes lose power and cut out. I have been advised to spray wd40 around the spark plugs but I am not a mechanic and cant see where they are. somebody else said to get a sport distributor that has more protection against rain.
Does anyone here know of this problem or have a suggestion?
thanks in advance
AShley

yes 3 areas can get water :
1. Carb/ air box
2. cdi ( there's no distributor on a scooter)
3. other conections.

of all its the carb that is the worst issue
you might be best served if you look at the  service manual or parts manuals
to familiarize yourself with the motor and where all the components are

all the parts/service manual links are at the bottom of the forum homepage..

thank you oilihans, is there any way to give the carb protection against rain or is conking out when wet just the way it is designed? the problem is we have a hell of a lot of wet weather here in the uk and I am afraid to take the bike out as this has happened on several occasions far from home. I am not a mechanic so reading the manual is not likely to help me. I was hoping that I could find things out to pass on the mechanic that has already tried and failed to resolve this problem.
thanks for the help

you can use a light coating  of white lithium grease  or vaseline  on
the important electrical connections( coil & cdi & s.plug)  to keep out water.

for the carb check that all the rubber shroud is in place
 which helps protect it .
