Remote starter draining battery?

I have a 2006 R9 laser scooter. It has a remote starter kit pre-installed which I never use. I've read those things drain the battery and unplugging/removing improves battery life. Can anyone confirm this?

Thanks!

yes industry wide they don't put them on anymore .
and when they came out with them as we dealers removed them
and added a jumper wire on the modular plug,
or disabled  them by removing the fuse .

make sure the alarm- lock-remote start fob is in the unlock position.
you can find the code on the internet  by searching for
scooter remote start fob  or something like that .

Thanks, I'll remove it then. Hopefully I can fix my starter issue...
