Hi all,
New to the forum. I own a 2007 TGB Key West with approximately 13000 miles on it. It has always been serviced every few months for preventative maintenance and ran very well. We purchased the scooter in 2008 new and only use it around the island of Key West. About a week ago the wife, (the primary operator) started complaining that the exhaust was getting louder and louder but would still operate. Then last week while driving it, the scooter died while driving and would not turn over either by ignition switch or kick starting. The kick start felt very difficult to turn over. We let it it sit for a while and then tried it and it started back up but would not idle. Local repair techs are saying that its a bent crankshaft most probably based off the symptoms and the sound it makes. Explaining that there is piston slap causing it to lose compression. Said its junk. Any thoughts from the forum. Is it worth anything for parts?
Thanks,
Glen

new crank and bearings will run you about $180

as for parting it out  you will make a few bucks minus your or
somebody's disassembly labor and perhaps the ads for your parts.

or sell the whole  scooter for parts at about $150/$200.
