Rear tire change...

I attempted to change my rear tire yesterday - TGB 50 Delivery - it is not seated properly, and won't take in any air. So I am thinking I need to use an air compressor to seat the tire, or else I have damaged the valve stem putting the new tire on.

Any ideas anyone

1.you have to have a compressor
2.take a nylon strap tie it around the tire(ie. circumference)
take a bar or big screwdriver and wind up the
strap and tighten the tire down to the rim.
3.fill until you hear some popping as the tire seats
4. remove air  to correct psi for tire.

Thank you, Harry. I managed to seat it with an air compressor from the gas station. But I realize now that a ratchet strap and an air compressor would have done it quicker. I still have the front tire to do. It has no punctures but it is a very old tire.

Can you recommend an air compressor for use with this bike. I only need up to 40 psi to seat these tires properly. AC or thru the battery tender would be best. Seems like I am gonna need a air compressor to push dynabeads thru my right handed valve stem too. At the moment my rear wheel is unbalanced, but personally I don't think my bike needs balancing.
