TGB/Pierspeed 50cc Delivery scooter

Hi, Newbie here with a technical question. I have just bought an 09
TGB 50cc Delivery scooter and was advised that the odometer would
be read in kilometers, not miles. I have noted that over a measured
distance, measured by my car odometer, my Scoot and my car odometers
agree.
The scoot is registering in miles. Are we missing something here? Just wondering.
I really like this TGB scoot. Any info will be greatly appreciated.

all the other TGB's KeyWest / Sunset ( which btw is the same as the delivery)
 are miles on the odometer .

Thanks, oilyhans!!! That clears up a misunderstanding. I have a 02 Tomos Revival and a
06 Tank 150 touring scoot that register in kilometers and a 07 Tank touring 250 that
registers in miles. It gets a little confusing at times!!!!

usually when the speedo has mph on the top 
and km on the bottom eg;  30/50       the odometer is in miles
and the reverse is true  50/30    the odometer is in km's
