After enjoying being the center of attention in traffic due to the excessive noise of my MRP pipe... I've decided after a rather long road trip, ears ringing, I needed to find another pipe or a way to quiet this one... So, I grabbed the 10mm wrench and unbolted the silencer and seperated it and found the center preferated tube wrapped in fiberglass. I removed a the section, now burned and charred, and loosely rewrapped the pipe and reassembled. What a difference, much more quieter and a bit quicker, needed to rich out the fuel mixture a bit too!! So for all of you looking for a performance pipe, and know how hard it is to find one for the R-50x, you can make a slight modification to this one, without sacrificing performance, and without loss of hearing!! Hope this helps alot of you out there!!

hey goulies long time since you've posted!
yes a repack will help and it is a normal maintenance issue
with expansion pipes.  as you found out the packing burns up!
if your running lean lots will be gone too because the
exhaust is a lot hotter when your lean.
so did you buy a repack kit  or what?

sorry to hear your ride  blew up ...
but  the 64 jet was on the small side and with a pipe
& a 70cc kit  you were headed for trouble  .

a 70 jet  is also small for your set up  but do have a look at the plug for
a real indication of whats going on inside the motor.
fyi;;many of the jog 70cc kits i sell come with a 75 main jet
;if that is any help..

could just be a coincidence you did something and  the motor broke

some  guys i know  use amsoil  saber 100:1 - 2t
 but  premix  it  80:1
amsoil has been in business about 40 years and
has been on the cutting edge of synthetic performance oils.
the interceptor  injector  oil is what i use in my rental scooters.
