How much benefit would a CDI have on a 150cc Laser?

Also, would I need an AC or DC CDI?

I'm having trouble finding info on the engine and what parts would/wouldn't work. Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Thanks in advance!

here's a how to;;;

When ordering parts for your scooter it is important to have the engine number that you can find at the bottom of the transmission case. There are variations but this pictured code would translate as follows: first number is always a "1" meaning one cylinder. The next two, in this instance "57" is the bore of the motor in millimeters. The "Q" means a GY6 motor. The last two letters denote the size of the engine, MJ being a 150cc.

there are a couple of variations of the gy6 so thats why you
have to know which motor you have.

Awesome info! Thanks! I'll have to find that code now!  ;D

I'm guessing these are DC current, due to the lights not coming on until the scooter is running?

more like this;
dc systems ~ headlight comes on with the key
eg; draws power from the battery
ac systems ~ headlight comes on with the motor
eg; system power is rectified - then goes to battery and h.light

So I found the plate with the engine number (I think) and it says Line 1: TGB GL9   Line 2: *104691*

When I do a search for TGB GL9 I get this: http://www.tgb.com.tw/style/content/tgb/product_detail.asp?lang=2&customer_id=1541&name_id=42119&rid=11911&rid2=12286&id=51086

I would appreciate any help to deciphering this and figuring what kind of gy6 I have. Thanks!
