Hello all, I'm Ian and I own a 50cc Delivery scooter 2007. 8500 miles on the clock.
I have taken the large box off the back and replaced with a plastic locking storage box.
Personally I think these are good quality scooters
I live in Northumberland UK.
I would like to deristrict it.
I know about the restrictor ring on the variator, the pipe from the exhaust needs flattening and welding up, the pipe in the exhaust needs cutting out, needs a better intake and 65 main jet.
Would putting an unrestricted CDI on be a good bet?

Can some one on here help with parts supply?

Many thanks Ian  :)

Hello, been out on the scoot this morning, I've cut the brown wire, slightly better, on full throttle at about 32mph it just stops as if restricted (I guess it is) is this normal for the the restrictor for this model?

Cheers Ian

hey Ian,
well yeah the cdi restriction  will kick in around there
the story on unrestricted / unlimited cdi's
you need to have the rpm's for the cdi to 'allow' the use of them
which  means unless you have a expansion pipe or bbk  you
really won't see a lot of speed increase by putting one on.
that being said it does  give you 3-5 mph if other parts are modded
the way to go faster is to change the variator and use sliders....

going to a 65 is not much of a increase[ stock jet is a 60 ] but there is not much tuning needed .
better to put on a bigger carb if you want to see a big increase
also a better pipe would help too ...
anyway let me know if you want parts..

Hello Harry thanks for the info.
I have changed the CDI and its now more ridable on my morning route to work, as you said about a few mph,s but its just easier to ride now, before it was a primative restrict of stop and go, now it just revs better.
I think this will be long term scoot as not many people want to buy these deliveries - they are very useful though.
i'll tackle the variator next - got to get a BMW K 100 done first and make some money.

i'll be in touch about the sliders and some springs around Christmas time.

Cheers Ian
