So I recently got a tbg key West. I've never seen it run. It has...
70cc malossi cylinder & o ring head
Technagas expansion chamber pipe
Malossi vario

Link to a picture of my bike..
http://www.mopedarmy.com/forums/file.php?1,file=166310

I've done the following.
Clean gas tank and carb
Checked reeds
New base gasket
Checked for spark - good
Deleted the fuel pump
Feels like I have compression & air flow

I'm missing a starter relay but that wouldn't keep it from running.im jumping the starter motor off battery.

Maybe timing is off but it's a cdi that I don't think is adjustable?
Disconnected the kill switch and still nothing.
I even dumped gas down intake and nothing.

you have to hold in a brake lever to start it . try both levers
one of those switches might be bad.,
motor has to be grounded, check the wire is attached
cdi must be checked it has a grounding circuit too
if any of these things are grounding(except motor ) you will not have spark

Ok so I found 4 snap connectors not plugged in to anything and can't find a snap connector to plug them into.

1- I assume is the starter relay.
4 wires
2 big red
a green with yellow stripe

2- is under the floor boards next to coil.
3 wires
Grey with blue mark on it.
Black with a red mark on it
Brown

3- in the dash with a red connector
Forgot colors

4- next to headlight with a red connector

sorry its been a while since worked on a KW.
but many times the harness is used on more than one scooter
and there might be extra/unused plugs.

in your first post you say you deleted the fuel pump??
hard to do since there is no pump  ;)
you have a vacuum shut off that the fuel flows through
and is operated by the vac pipe on the carb...

compression should be 130psi+
possible the piston is upside down so the intake /exhaust port
are covered.
who kitted it? did it run since then?

No idea who kitted it. Yeah I ment the vacuum or whatever that is. Never seen it run. I'll check the piston today, but pretty sure I put it in right when I did the base gasket.

Ok so I put my finger in exhaust port and didn't feel a intake port on the piston so that means piston is in correctly, right?

It's got a malossi cdi box, I'll look to see which one later on. Could that be it. Wrong cdi box?

Where are all the ground spots at? I can't tell anything out of the wiring diagram I found online. And I can only find one that I think someone put on, possibly the mystery man who kitted it.

you said you have spark so cdi is working ..
if you have any kind of spark
you should get something if you give it a shot of liquid dynamite.
not too much  just a short "pssd" or you can blow the motor up.

what kind of air box does it have????
lots of issues if its a open filter , cone filter  or foam filter

No air filter.
I've dumped gas down intake, which should make it pop, but it's not.
I'll try to compression test it today and see what that is.
I've tried to cover carb with hand to see if me restricted it does anything and nothing.

15 psi. 15. That explains alot. Guess I'm going to make a new base gasket.

The head is a o-ring gasket - could that be it?

Also the piston that was inside the malossi kit had 4 rings when I opened it up, 2 regular looking, 2 like a 1/2mm thick. I took the 1/2mm thick ones out. - could that be it?

it needs  the stock air filter . without it , it is so touchy the
change in the weather will through off the mix.

base gasket , bad rings ,  rings not lined up on the pins right
all will give a bad reading.
squirt some oil in the  cylinder and see if the compression changes
(make sure you cover all the ring by getting piston vertical )
if it goes up at all its the rings , if it stays the same its the base gasket.

the thin rings are needed ,  also the other rings have a top   and there is sometimes a top ring too. usually the ring has a bevel or stepped cut
that aligns with the pin in the ring grove.

Ok so cleaned up the case & cylinder where they meet.

Base gasket looked good.

Put the other thin rings on top of the regular big rings.

Rubber o-ring head gasket looked good but I feel like that is where I'm getting my leak.

With a cap full of sae30 the psi went up to 30.

Soo anyone have a regular head for this bike I can get?

Oh. I also checked ring Gap on both sets of rings.
On the big regular set it was a little big, maybe 1/4 inch.
On the thin weird ring set it was a little smaller like a few mm's.

yes the end gap is a bit big..
those oring gaskets are meant to be replaced each
time the head comes off .
so psi going up means the rings are now sealed ....
and there is a leak there
